Membership
We at Redeemer now extend to you the opportunity to join the oldest and most sacred community in the history of the world. Complete with vows and rituals, you may join the only fraternity that matters--Christ's Church. What does it mean to be a member of the Church? First and foremost, it means being integrated into Christ's body. We, as a Church, have his blood running through us and his Spirit gives us life. To understand it, consider your relationship with your own body. Is it possible for someone to love you and hate your body? If you want to turn out a light or get something, do you not have to use your body to do it? If Christ is going to do anything in our world, he will use his body to do it. By becoming a member of his body, you are submitting yourself to Him for His service. Therefore, we as a body can begin to do things that we could not otherwise do. We will expand our ministries by adopting and supporting missionaries, and ministries at home such as R.U.F. It will also enable us to expand our ministry within our church, with such things as children's ministries, bible studies and prayer groups. Second, it means formal submission to the leaders God has appointed. We trust others to care for our souls, and believe God will instruct, protect and encourage us through the leaders he ordains. Finally, it means taking responsibility for the support, direction and worship of the Church. We believe God directs us as a group more than as individuals. So we need to make some decisions as a group, such as choosing officers, buying property and other major decisions. And we need to know that this body is going to be supported in its work and worship. The Enduring Community
